The Waterfront Lodge enjoys a quiet corner tucked away on the banks of the River Derwent - its so peaceful that its hard to believe you're only minutes away from the main highway into historic Hobart. A short drive or bus ride from the door and you're free to start exploring the city - Sullivan's Cove and the small boat docks, Salamanca Place, galleries, museums - all only a ten- minute drive away. Drive another 15 minutes and you're at the top of Mount Wellington and looking up the Derwent valley, across the river to the hills and bays of the southeast, and down the river to the ocean. All in all, the Lodge has a very central location from which to base your explorations of Southern Tasmania. Because of its superb location, the hotel owners have completely rebuilt what was formerly the Marina Motel, sparing no expense in the process. The guest rooms have all be completely refurbished, and equipped with fittings, linens and lighting that are found in the very best hotels. The studio rooms have a kitchenette, as well as a Queen and single bed to accommodate up to three guests.
