The Ellersly House Hotel is an Ivy-clad Edwardian country house set in secluded gardens in the suburbs of Edinburgh, two miles from the historic city center. The 57 guestrooms feature a simple cream and blue décor with dark wood furnishings. All rooms have complimentary toiletries, as well as satellite television, direct-dial phones and coffee/tea makers. Traditional Scottish fayre and modern international dishes are served in the informal Gallery restaurant which overlooks the gardens and features modern and traditional artwork, wood furnishings and blue carpets. In the lounge bar snacks and refreshments are served in a relaxed atmosphere with two Georgian fireplaces. The gardens make an attractive retreat in which to while away a couple of hours with the morning papers or a good book. Guests can add champagne and flowers to their rooms for a fee of around £40. The hotel can cater for social functions and banquets of up to 90 people and conferences of up to 75. Complimentary parking is available for guests with their own vehicles. The famous Edinburgh Zoo can be found one mile from the hotel. Edinburgh Castle, which provides excellent views over the city, Princes Street, the Royal Mile and Holyrood palace are all two miles away. Edinburgh Airport is six miles from the hotel.
